What I know after my first solo trip
My first solo trip in Vilnius, Lithuania 📍

What I know after my first solo trip; Last year, I went on my first official solo trip to Lithuania. Here is what I learnt along the way.

What my first solo trip taught me

When I was younger I never thought I’d ever be the type of person to travel around the world solo, but last year I found myself in a position where I didn’t seem to have much of a choice.

First things first, if you’re still unsure about how to go about booking or organizing your first-ever solo trip abroad. I got you, click here for all the information that you need.

1. It’s not as scary as it seems

Of course, it’s daunting and I was really nervous the night before but getting on the plane is half the battle.

2. Solo travel is extremely empowering

There’s something really empowering about going places yourself. It’s a great way to increase your confidence.

3. There are potential new friends everywhere

I went on this solo trip to experience Worldpackers and to get work done in my spare time and got the bare minimum work done because it was so easy to make friends. As I said in my last post, everyone really is in the same boat when it comes to wanting to meet people while travelling. A feature on the Hostel World app which I find amazing is the chat option to connect with other travellers who are currently in the same location as you.

4. Spending time alone is so valuable

It’s something a lot of us avoid as a coping mechanism. It feels like when you’re alone you’ve no choice but to be with your thoughts. I think we all need more alone time to reflect.

5. Solo travel allows you to be completely free
