Here’s how to spend 24 hours in Marrakesh. We traveled from Agadir, here’s my guide for Agadir. If you’re also looking to start your trip in Agadir or even just do a day trip, here is all you need to know about visiting.

Can you see Marrakesh in a day?
If you’re not a lover of busy cities then absolutely, one day is probably enough for you. We took a bus going from Agadir where we were staying to Marrakesh. The bus journey takes about 3 and a half hours. We booked with a company called Agadir Journey and I would definitely recommend them. Here is the day trip that we booked.
Top things to see in Marrakesh
1️⃣ The Koutoubia Mosque & Gardens.
One of the most famous mosques in Morocco. Most of the tours start here. You can’t enter unless you’re Muslim, but can wander outside and relax in the gardens around it.
2️⃣ Admire The Badii Palace Ruins
3️⃣ Visit the Bahia Palace
You do have to pay an entry fee to get inside but the artwork is meant to be stunning here!
4️⃣Have a meal at a rooftop restaurant
This is a good way to get the best view of the city and to also get away from the crowds if it’s all a bit much for you.
5️⃣ Visit The Souk Markets
Here is where you’ll embrace the lively and ‘overwhelming’ side of Marrakesh called the Jama El Fana Square. It’s basically a massive market square of herbs and spices, handbags, clothes, ornaments, rugs, pillows, and literally any souvenir you can think of. If you’ve been to markets in the likes of Turkey or some places in Asia, you’ll probably be used to pushy salespeople, if not be prepared for it. 🤣

How to spend 24 hours in Marrakesh: My top tips for surviving the busy square
👀 There are performers with monkeys and snakes everywhere. They usually approach you and try to get you to hold them, just say no. I hated to see the little monkey clearly in distress trying to pull the chain off.
👀 Like most markets, they will inevitably overcharge you and rip you off. I’m not one for haggling and all, I feel bad sometimes if they’re trying to make a living but they will absolutely fleece you for being a tourist if you don’t negotiate prices. 🤣
